Dandelion Eghosa | EXHIBITION
Unspoken Rudiments
29th Sep – 10th Nov 2019
FREE
This is the debut solo exhibition of multimedia artist, Dandelion Eghosa, who employs cut-out paper portraits, acrylic paint and embroidery in her works.
Made up of two series of work “Home” and “Is This a Woman?” The former sees Eghosa re-visiting places and childhood experiences once familiar but now foreign and uncomfortable for her. The latter highlights the negative judgement that can often be bestowed upon persons that identify themselves differently within the society.
Also showing at the exhibition is a short film entitled ‘’Ahoèmon-egbé’’ which means “love for one another” in Esan language. Connecting with older women in Ekpoma, her hometown, she delves into meaning of love with them, throwing up the question Is love is still love when you realize certain truths about a person?
