Cafe Jade is on two levels, a casual cafe vibe downstairs and a more plush dining space on the upper deck.
The wall downstairs is filled with instagram-esque "artwork" - mainly typography prints which we're not mega fans of but at least it's been executed well; the look is completed with low hanging filament light bulbs.
If you're just after a casual coffee and prefer a more lit environment, perch yourself downstairs. If you prefer something a little more luxe, head upstairs, where there are plush velvet sofa chairs (dusty pinks, light blues and rich navy); the finishing could be a bit more tight and we have an aversion to curtains, so we'd lose that but it ain't our restaurant. So.
Overall, though, the space is cute. We particularly like the 3 seat bar, perfect for happy hour cocktails.

Whilst we're on the topic of cocktails, order them here. They are potent and good - you ask for a caipirinha, you get a caipirinha; always a welcome bonus in Lagos. Mocktail wise. the pomegranate juice is a banger.

The sharing platter is pretty good value at 8k - you get a couple of yam and plantain strips, chicken wings, spicy as hell snail skewers, meat samosa and giant prawn spring rolls; the latter being our favourite. We also ordered chicken pops as a starter which had a sweet glaze.

The Jade Jollof knows what's up and comes in a half portion (₦2,500) and full portion (₦ 4,000) - with bell peppers chicken and prawn chunks mixed in - we'd appreciate a bit more prawn in there but hey, times are hard. 24/7 generator won't pay for itself.

Wait times can be painful but the service is pleasant and attentive.

For starters, a main and x2-3 cocktails, ₦8k should sort you out and they operate happy hour Tue-Fri on all food and cocktails from 2pm-7pm. Hollar.

We are napkins, menus and toilet fascists. Here's our verdict:

Napkins: paper napkins but not the super thin ones, actually decent quality

Menus: paper menus need a reprint bruh

Toilet: odd smell but set up overall is pretty decent
